Position Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to support daily accounting operations, assist with the month-end close process, and maintain accurate financial records in accordance with U.S. GAAP. This role provides an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in the financial operations of the organization and the accounting department. The ideal candidate will bring with them a strong background in a wide range of accounting duties.


Responsibilities

  • Proficiency in multi-company operations
  • Knowledge and experience in Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
  • Support accounts payable processes including invoice review, coding, and vendor coordination
  • Assist with account reconciliations, expense reporting, and transaction verification
  • Evaluate and post customer deposits
  • Update Daily Transaction Journals for all companies
  • Assist Month-end close process, including account reconciliations and journal entries
  • Reconcile Module Period End Reports to General Ledger
  • Reconciliation of bank accounts and credit cards
  • Manage accounts payable: process vendor invoices, ensure appropriate coding, and support timely payment execution
  • Prepare and post accurate journal entries, including month-end accruals, prepaids, reclasses, and fixed asset transactions
  • Review accounting data for discrepancies or inconsistencies
  • Backup for payroll processing
  • Support monthly and quarterly financial reporting activities
  • Maintain spreadsheets, tracking systems, and finance-related administrative tools
  • Assist with audit preparation and collection of supporting financial documentation
  • Assist with maintaining the effectiveness of internal controls
  • Help identify and implement improvements in internal processes, systems, and reporting workflows
  • Assist with ad hoc analysis, process improvement initiatives, and other special projects assigned


Skills and Experience

  • BA/BS in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
  • High level of skill in MS Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Experience with ERP software programs preferred
  • Ability to collect, analyze and interpret data to support the team
  • Ability to communicate effectively throughout the organization
  • Ability to meet deadlines and complete projects in a timely manner
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
