P/C Accountant

To support the Property/Casualty (P/C) Accounting functions for Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company of Michigan and Farm Bureau General Insurance Company of Michigan. To include participation in preparation of all financial reporting on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.

Provide support in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.

Assist in daily reconciliation of accounts, posting and recording journal entries.

Provide support to P/C Accounting team for analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual results.

Assist in the preparation of the P/C companies' annual budgets.

Assist in reinsurance accounting, assumed and ceded.

Required:
Bachelor's degree with a major in accounting required.

Minimum one to three years accounting experience required.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Preferred:

Understanding of statutory accounting principles and knowledge of insurance preferred.

Note:This is a Hybrid position working both remotely (in the State of Michigan) and Onsite at the Farm Bureau Home Office located in Lansing, Michigan.
